Your hosts, Jim Adair and myself (Mike Pop) added to the greatness of Friday's sunny afternoon by bringing you a superb edition of Never Mind the Mindstream. With only a few shows left to go in NMTM's lifespan, we're pulling out all the stops and bringing you the greatest programming a college radio frequency has ever seen. This week featured a few shockers, even for our show: Goo Goo Dolls, (a Doors cover via) Echo & The Bunnymen, Joe Jackson, and Blondie. New music brought to you by Tegan & Sara, Band Of Horses, The Hold Steady, Stars, and Titus Andronicus. Jim pulled out his vinyl collection and it was an absolute thrill to play those records on our player for the first time in our show's illustrious history. Thanks to everyone who tuned in. We know the weather is beautiful and everyone wants to be outside, so why not turn us on outdoors? We sound better in nature, anyway. Post-"Snowmageddon"/Thursday Night Notes

Snow sucks.

Friday night into Saturday midday was bad enough, but on top of that snow, we folks in Kutztown received a fresh blanket Tuesday night into Wednesday midday. 28 inches total? I've seen enough snow. I'm moving to Florida. Perhaps the only thing good to come from the "Snowmageddon" was the outlandish and totally welcomed two full school days canceled. This kind of thing never happens, especially here in Pennsylvania. Whatever, no complaints from me about that. However, digging my jeep out the street sure wasn't fun earlier tonight. Sorry to the community of Kutztown for pushing my snow back out into the street. I had to get to the Student Union building to plan our show for tomorrow night. Oh, and while we were buffeted with white powder, my housemates and I built an epic snow fort and invited all our friends up to christen it. We also drank excessively and threw our empties in the woods. College kids will be college kids. Okay, onto the notes:

+ New live She & Him track. It was played on the radio. How fun.

+ Yeasayer played Jim's favorite tune of 2009 on Fallon last night. Behold "Ambling Alp".

+ Thom Yorke is going to remix Major Lazer?

+ Bonnaroo line-up looks great so far.

+ Grizzly Bear and Arcade Fire found their way into the ears of Super Bowl viewers. Google had a sick ad, too.

Weekend News (Elementary Edition)

Remember when you were growing up, attending grade school, watching ABC's TGIF line-up (Hangin' With Mr. Cooper/Boy Meets World combo was TV gold), and then writing on big, thick olive-colored paper at your desk on Monday mornings, describing your weekend adventures? ...Just me? Here's the NMTM version of what happened in the world of rock 'n' roll this weekend:

Over the weekend, Jared from Black Lips got in a scuffle with Nathan from Wavves in a New York City bar. Or so one side says. Afterwards, they both released semi-legitimate press releases about the incident, chock full of indie rock hatred and F-bombs. What a bunch of bad kids. More here. "I had fun. It was fun."

Passion Pit & Phoenix played two shows in Central Park. Jim’s brother attended the Saturday show. Oh man, I’m just thinking - they all could’ve gone and joined the Black Lips/Wavves brawl once the show was over. I guess they realized their age. More here. “I had fun. It was fun.”

Morrissey’s album cover for Swords was released. What’s he running from? A US tour date was announced, too, but all the shows are on the West Coast. Lame. “It was fun. I had fun.”

Hello all. Good to see you again. Hey, you look great have you lost weight? Anyway, I am back after being out of this blogging game for quite a while due to many reasons (mainly laziness). But I promise I am back and back with a vengeance. I don't have much to say now, but I will later, so I leave you with one of my favorite songs of the summertime, "Rome" by Phoenix off their awesome album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
