The Big 2-0! + Additional Info

Rock 'n' roll radio lives on with Never Mind the Mainstream, every Friday, from 6-8 PM only on 88.3 FM KUR. While many other stations in the area are switching formats or just quite frankly playing God-awful singles, Jim and I provide you with the best of yesterday's, today's (and tomorrow's) alternative and indie rock (for you older rockers out there, "college rock"). April 3rd marks a month-long journey to the end of the semester, but we haven't lost our stride just yet! We got new tunes from M. Ward, Death Cab For Cutie, and Black Lips. We got classics from Billy Bragg and The Replacements. And the poster also points out that we're going to get all modern on ya with LCD Soundsystem and Say Hi, among so much more. Folks, the show's going to be good; rest assured, we wouldn't lie to you. So be sure to get at us on Friday, by tuning into our web-stream @ kur.kutztown.edu. Call in: (610)-683-4058 or IM us @ KURRequest.

In other news, the KUR Battle of the Bands is shaping up nicely. Mark your calendars: Wednesday April 22, 2009 (Earth Day! - I just found that out), 7:00-10:00 PM under a giant tent on the DMZ here at Kutztown University. Admission? We're not sure about that just yet, but we are taking donations for Alpha Phi Omega's foundation for a sick, little girl. So bring some bucks! The bands include local outfits 3 Second Lead, Welcome To Earf, The Hoodlum Circus, Shelbyville, and KAEYO. Come out and enjoy these punk/post-punk/rock(?) bands play live at KU! For more information, check our main page at kur.kutztown.edu. See you there!
