Spring Break 2010!

No show tomorrow, folks. Jim and myself, along with the rest of the Kutztown University student body, are on Spring Break. We will be out for two weeks. Doesn't that suck? Well, we'll enjoy our break from broadcasting (for a little while at least) and we hope you enjoy your vacation as well. We're back LIVE on March 19th, so be sure to tune in then.

On our 37th installment of the show, not only did we spin both love and break-up tunes, but we managed to set a new NMTM record, playing a grand total of 24 songs in the entire two hours. It was no easy task by any means, as we had to keep our conversations with listeners and ourselves short. However, the show did not lose it's luster. We played everything we wanted to play, took requests from callers, and had great chats about our recent snow escapades, romance songwriting, and romantic films. A handful of people called in, from near and far, to wish us a Happy Valentine's Day, and so we must give a big shout out and thanks to all of those who did so. Like we've mentioned time and time again, we have the best listeners on college radio. We hope you enjoyed our blend of modern, classic, love and love loss songs; it's definitely one of our favorite themes to explore on the show. Keep up with the calls and messages. We'd love to put you on the air! Tune in next week for another great set.

Elvis Costello - "Alison"

Ben Gibbard (Feat. Jenny Lewis) - "Nothing Better"

Never Mind the Mainstream Gets Spooky!

The largely anticipated NMTM Halloween Edition (2009) airs TOMORROW, 6-9 PM, streaming LIVE @ kur.kutztown.edu! We've got a ghastly group of terrifying tunes from some of the best alternative and indie rock artists to ever write a haunting jingle; and we're not afraid to unleash them on all your innocent souls! As always, we'll have our usual segments and specials, but we're gearing everything we play and everything we talk about towards Hallow's Eve, the most frightening of all the holidays. Let us be your Mischief Night soundtrack and stay with us for the whole two hours, as we'll tell ghost stories (maybe...) and likely make fun of you for your weak Halloween costume ideas (fear not, our's aren't much better). We'll give you a bit of a preview: we're spinning Gnarls Barkley, Interpol, Morrissey, The Specials, Tegan & Sara, Wolfmother, and so much more. And yes, you can expect "The Monster Mash". Tune in and call or IM us. Have a safe and happy Halloween!

The Specials
- "Ghost Town"

It's Labor Day, Take The Day Off

Happy Labor Day. A big thanks goes out to all those 12-year-old kids who lost their fingers and innocence in textile mills during the turn of the century. I bet that sucked. But because of our hard-working forefathers, not only do we have weekends, but we also have a Monday off to reflect on how much we hate our 9-5's. Yet even still, some of us work on holidays, which only makes the rage inside of us flow higher to the brim, until we eventually repress it, becoming cancerous. Here's a couple of videos about working, but more truthfully, about despising your modern day slave labor. Enjoy:

Canibus (Feat. Biz Markie)
- "Shove This Jay Oh Bee"

The Clash - "Career Opportunities"

The Offspring - "Why Don't You Get A Job?"

"Hmmm...yeah..."
