Spring Mix!

We talk on the show, frequently these days, about the changing of the seasons. Winter seemed to linger like a bad dream. We had snow on our Spring Break (if you want to call in that). And the early parts of Spring tantalized us with cold weather trickery (kind of a slap in the face when on days like St. Patty's Day, the high was in the 70's). Weird stuff. So what is it people say about April? In like a lion, out like a lamb? April showers bring May flowers? What does this have to do with alternative rock? Good question. Here's a good answer (on Good Friday): I've devised a nice little mix for you all to enhance your springtime merriment. It socks. It's called being a nice guy - I'm trying it out. These songs have to do with the time, the feeling, and the greatness that
comes with Spring. For me, Spring is pretty much just a "springboard" to the Summer. This really is just a warm-up. I'm anxiously looking forward to fun in the sun and brews with the bros. But for now, here's my list. Enjoy:

The Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything This Is A Season). You think Spring and this song doesn't come into your head?

Miracle Legion - Madison Park. Spring has sprung and winter's gone. Time to be outdoors once again.

R.E.M. - Green Grow The Rushes. "La-la-la-la-liii". Plants are starting to grow again. Now I need to start cutting the lawn again.

Of Montreal - Our Spring Is Sweet Not Fleeting. At a whopping 1:02, this instrumental whirlwind of keys drops you off in a patch of daises. Luckily for you, the bees are still hibernating.

Matt Pond PA - Neighbor's New Yard. Their grass is always greener than yours, isn't it?

Bruce Springsteen - Girls In Their Summer Clothes. Break 'em out, ladies.

Eh, I'll clean it up tomorrow...
