**Background music consisted of various summery songs, you know, in case we didn't play enough of those during the show itself. We had everything under the sun from Bananarama to Sublime.

That's a rap, folks! With the conclusion of this edition, the Never Mind the Mainstream guys are hanging up their headphones and putting down their records for a well-deserved vacation this summer. And although we'll miss the airwaves and the fans, we'll survive the time apart and be ready to rock once more in the fall. This show was one of our strongest and it's all thanks to the combined efforts of both DJs and listeners. Our summer theme went over swimmingly and we loved all the IMs and phone calls we got from you all. It's a part of the show we hold near and dear to our hearts and it will be sorely missed. We got to play some rare tunes that we always wanted to play and never could, like The Stone Roses, The Damned, Kevn Kinney, and Delta Spirit. Safe to say: we were satisfied. Jim revealed that he'll be hosting a summer show on KUR (pre-recorded, obviously), so keep it here to find out more information on that one as it comes in. I, on the other hand, plan on taking summer courses, catching up on the state of rock 'n' roll, and of course, celebrating my 21st year on this planet. Truly exciting times to come. So we leave you with our playlist and best wishes for the summer. Be safe, WEAR SUNSCREEN, and "don't you forget about us". Because we'll be back next September with more great sets. Take care, spread the word of the gospel, and we'll find you to the left of the dial.

"Can. you. stand. me. on my feet?"

"I'm not sure all these people understand."

"We're gonna build something this summer."
